Former England player Andy Carroll reveals he was sexually assaulted in 2021

Former England footballer Andy Carroll, 37, has revealed in his autobiography 'Owning It' that he was sexually assaulted by a man at his home in 2021 while he slept, during his second spell at Newcastle. The attacker, a friend of his former partner who was staying away at the time, was convicted of sexual offences after Carroll testified in court. The offender was subsequently sentenced to three years in jail.
