Former Grand National Winner Noble Yeats Dies
Noble Yeats, the 50-1 winner of the 2022 Grand National ridden by Sam Waley-Cohen, has died at the age of 11 after suffering from colic. The horse fell ill on April 15 while in retirement at owner Robert Waley-Cohen's stud in Oxfordshire, and despite overnight veterinary treatment, could not be saved and was euthanized on the morning of April 16. Trained by Emmet Mullins, Noble Yeats' Grand National victory was particularly memorable as it was also jockey Sam Waley-Cohen's final race ride.
