Former PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour players reach all-ex-pro final at 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur

The 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur final will feature two former professional golfers: Nate Smith, 43, an Idaho homebuilder and former Korn Ferry Tour winner who made approximately $171,000 in 25 PGA Tour starts before regaining amateur status in 2022, and Andrew Bailey, 34, of Cleveland, Ohio. The all-ex-pro final continues a recent trend seen in USGA events. Smith, originally from Santa Monica, California, said he was initially hesitant to return to amateur competition but received his amateur status back from the USGA within three days.
