Former PGA Tour pro dies suddenly at age 45
Former PGA Tour professional Matt McQuillan, a 45-year-old Canadian from Kingston, Ontario, died on August 5 surrounded by his family. McQuillan earned his PGA Tour card through Q-School in 2010 and played in 32 tour events during his career, achieving his best finish of tied third at the 2011 John Deere Classic with a final-round 64, earning $582,933 that season. He turned professional in 2003 and had a decorated amateur career, winning multiple Canadian junior championships before competing collegiately at Oklahoma State and Georgia.
