Formula 1 News: F1 revenue plunges due to Iran war
Formula 1's revenue dropped 38% in Q2 2026, falling from $1.226 billion to $764 million, with operating income collapsing from $293 million to $73 million, due to calendar disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict involving Iran. Liberty Media confirmed the 2026 season is now planned for 23 grands prix rather than the original 24, with the Saudi Arabian GP cancelled and currently not expected to be replaced, while the Bahrain GP was moved to an October event at Sepang. Despite the financial hit, F1 reported all 11 grands prix in its half-year review were sold out, drawing 3.7 million spectators compared to 3.4 million at equivalent races the previous year.
