Formula 1 News: FIA reveals full 2027 regulations, drivers welcome progress
The FIA has published the full 278-page technical regulations for Formula 1's 2027 season, formally approved by the World Motor Sport Council last week. Key changes include increased maximum fuel energy flow, higher ERS output, greater usable battery energy per lap, new power deployment modes, simplified underfloor aerodynamics, and a raised minimum driver weight of 82 kilograms including ballast. Austrian GP pole sitter George Russell welcomed the direction of the regulation changes, noting that updates introduced from the Japanese GP onwards have made the cars noticeably better to drive.
