Formula 1 News: Hamilton warns of ‘compression’ at new Madring circuit
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc became the first Formula 1 drivers to run at Madrid's new Madring circuit, completing a filming day ahead of the Spanish GP's debut in September. Hamilton raised concerns about 'compression' on the circuit's dramatic features, particularly the 550-meter La Monumental banked corner with a 24 percent gradient, while Leclerc highlighted how close drivers will pass to the walls during qualifying. Madring general manager Luis Garcia Abad confirmed Ferrari's overall verdict was positive, noting the 5.4km, 22-corner semi-street circuit was designed with direct input from Formula 1 itself.
