Formula 1 News: More sprint races coming in 2027 – Domenicali

Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has confirmed that the sport's sprint race program will expand from 2027, with the number of events potentially increasing from the current 6 to as many as 10. Monza has already been confirmed as a sprint weekend host for the next three seasons starting in 2027, and the full expanded sprint calendar will be revealed when F1 announces its 2027 schedule. Domenicali also indicated that Portimao is set to join the calendar, Istanbul is expected to return, while Zandvoort drops off and Barcelona begins a rotation with Spa from 2028.
