Formula 1: Rwanda to join calendar in the early 2030s as African Grand Prix host after 10-year agreement for return to continent

Rwanda has signed a 10-year agreement to host a Formula 1 African Grand Prix from the early 2030s, marking the sport's return to the continent for the first time since the 1993 South African Grand Prix. A brand-new purpose-built circuit will be constructed in Bugesera, approximately 40 kilometres south of the capital Kigali. The first race is expected to take place once the new circuit has been completed.
