Formula 1 to cut official race distances from 305 to 290 kilometers

Formula 1 has approved a reduction in official race distances from 305 to 290 kilometers, a cut of 15 kilometers, starting next season. The decision was finalized by the Formula 1 Commission in London, chaired by F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali and FIA Single-Seater Director Nikolas Tombazis. The change is linked to refinements in power unit regulations, including adjustments to fuel flow rules set to be introduced in 2027.
