Formula 1’s Sprint Format May Be Ready for a Shake-Up

Formula 1's Sprint format, now in its sixth year, is under discussion for potential changes including reverse grids, one-shot qualifying, and additional points. Currently featured at three of five 2026 grands prix so far, the format has remained largely unchanged since Sprint Qualifying was introduced in 2023. F1 data shows 82% of fans believe Sprint adds value, and the format could be expanded to as many as 10 grands prix in 2027.
