France's Mbappé wins Golden Boot ahead of Messi
Kylian Mbappé won the 2026 World Cup Golden Boot with 10 goals, becoming the first player to win the award at two World Cups (2022 and 2026). He scored twice in the third-place playoff against England, a 6-4 defeat, to secure the honour ahead of Lionel Messi, who finished with eight goals after failing to score in Argentina's final against Spain. Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham each finished with seven goals, while Harry Kane and Ousmane Dembélé each contributed six.
