French Open: Carlos Alcaraz to miss Grand Slam title defence with wrist injury

Two-time defending French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz, ranked world number two, has withdrawn from the upcoming French Open due to a right wrist injury sustained during his first-round match at the Barcelona Open. The 22-year-old underwent tests to assess the severity of the injury and has also pulled out of the Italian Open. Both tournaments are played on clay courts, the surface on which Alcaraz had won back-to-back French Open titles.
