French Open quarterfinal recap: How tennis in the wind and under a roof changes a match

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka suffered a shock defeat at the French Open quarterfinals on Wednesday, losing 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 to No. 25 seed Diana Shnaider, who had only beaten a top-10 player once before. Both players criticised tournament organisers for keeping the retractable roof on Court Philippe-Chatrier open during extremely windy and dusty conditions, which Shnaider described as leaving 'no clay left' to slide on. The roof was eventually closed after the first set of the following men's quarterfinal featuring Canada's No. 4 seed Félix Auger-Aliassime.
