Fritz powers past Jodar to win Washington crown

Taylor Fritz won the Mubadala DC Open in Washington on Monday, defeating first-time ATP 500 finalist Rafael Jodar 7-6(2), 6-4 in one hour and 49 minutes. The victory marked Fritz's 11th ATP Tour title and his first above ATP 250 level in nearly four years, making him only the second American to win the Washington trophy since 2008, joining 2024 champion Sebastian Korda. Fritz saved a break point in the final game and won on his fifth match point, collapsing to the ground in celebration after the victory.
