From 'worst day on a bike ever' to stage winner in five days: Pidcock's remarkable Tour of the Alps
Tom Pidcock, riding for Pinarello-Q36.5, had a dramatic turnaround at the 2026 Tour of the Alps, which ran from Monday to Friday, April 24. Despite describing stage one as 'the worst day on the bike I've ever had' after finishing second in a bunch sprint while still recovering from a knee injury sustained in a crash into a ravine at the Tour of Catalonia, the 26-year-old fought back over the five-day race. Pidcock went on to win a stage and attacked again on the final day, completing a remarkable recovery within the same week.
