Gabriel and Mac Allister's cheating is not just embarrassing, it's malevolent and wicked... players need the threat of red cards for such dishonesty and - if that fails - punishments after review, writes IAN LADYMAN

Daily Mail columnist Ian Ladyman condemns the simulation and cheating behavior of Arsenal's Gabriel and Liverpool's Mac Allister, arguing it goes beyond mere gamesmanship and is morally harmful to the game. Ladyman calls on the International Football Association Board (IFAB) to take meaningful action, advocating for stricter on-field punishment such as red cards for diving and dishonest play. He further argues that if immediate sanctions are insufficient, retrospective review and punishments should be introduced to deter such conduct.
