Garcia stops Benn in R2, retains WBC title

Ryan Garcia (26-0, 21 KOs) stopped Conor Benn (25-2, 14 KOs) via TKO at 1:25 of the second round on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, retaining his WBC welterweight championship. It was Garcia's fastest knockout in six years, since his first-round finish of Francisco Fonseca in February 2020, and fulfilled his pre-fight prediction of ending the bout within five rounds. Following the victory, Garcia immediately called out WBA champion Teofimo Lopez, who was in attendance, and WBO champion Devin Haney for unification bouts.
