Gauff vomits on court before advancing in Madrid

Coco Gauff vomited on court during her third-round Madrid Open match on Sunday after contracting a stomach virus circulating in the locker room, the same illness that caused top seed Iga Swiatek to withdraw from her match the previous day. Despite being a set and a break down against Romania's Sorana Cirstea, the third seed called a medical timeout and recovered to win 4-6, 7-5, 6-1. Gauff will next face 13th seed Linda Noskova in the fourth round.
