GB cyclist Richardson withdrawn from world champs

Matt Richardson, 27, has been withdrawn from the Great Britain squad for the 2026 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Shanghai amid allegations of misconduct, which British Cycling confirmed without specifying a reason. The Times reports that the governing body has launched a formal investigation into the allegations. Richardson, who switched allegiance from Australia after the Paris 2024 Olympics, had been expected to contend for three medals in the team sprint, individual sprint, and keirin events.
