Wales defeated hosts Georgia 25-24 in their opening match of the Junior World Championship (U20s) in Tbilisi, despite finishing the game with 13 men. Wales led 25-17 with five minutes remaining, with tries from Caio James, Rhys Cummings, and 15 points from fly-half Carwen Leggatt-Jones, before Georgia scored a late penalty-try to make it a tense finish. Wales held on to deny Georgia a last-gasp score and claim the dramatic victory in Pool A.
