Geraint Thomas on Bernal's struggles and Turner's response
At Stage 4 of the 2026 Giro d'Italia, INEOS co-leader Egan Bernal was dropped on a key climb after Movistar drove a hard pace for sprinter Orluis Aular, with teammate Ben Turner coming to his rescue. The stage was ultimately won by Jhonatan Narváez in a reduced sprint. INEOS sports director Geraint Thomas, speaking on the Watts Occurring podcast, acknowledged Bernal's difficult day but urged against alarm, noting the Colombian had shown strong form earlier in the spring with a second place at the Tour of the Alps and fifth at Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
