Giro d’Italia: Jonas Vingegaard makes statement to conquer Blockhaus summit

Jonas Vingegaard, the pre-race favourite riding for Visma-Lease a Bike, won stage seven of the Giro d'Italia on Friday by attacking solo with just over 5km remaining to the Blockhaus summit finish. The Danish rider, making his Giro debut, crossed the line ahead of Austria's Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CGM), who finished 13 seconds behind. The victory marked Vingegaard's first decisive move of this year's race.
