Glasgow Commonwealth Games organisers hope for late surge in ticket sales
Glasgow is preparing to host the 2025 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony at the OVO Hydro on Thursday night, but organisers are hoping for a late surge in ticket sales as seats remain available across several events at the four competition venues. Adult tickets for the opening ceremony are priced between £45 and £95 at the 13,000-capacity arena, which will feature a parade of nations and the arrival of all 74 Commonwealth batons. Six-time Olympic cycling champion Sir Chris Hoy, who announced in 2024 that he has stage-four cancer, is also set to participate in the ceremony.
