Glasgow to host the 2027 European Cross Country Championships

European Athletics has announced that Glasgow will host the 33rd SPAR European Cross Country Championships in 2027, following a successful bid led by UK Athletics in partnership with Glasgow Life, VisitScotland, and Athletic Ventures. The event will be held at Bellahouston Park and marks the first time Glasgow has hosted the championships, coming 24 years after the UK last staged the event at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh in 2003. Great Britain and Northern Ireland have historically topped the medal table at the championships, having accumulated 201 medals, including 81 gold, across three decades.
