Golden Knights sanctioned by NHL, lose 2nd-round pick in Draft

The NHL announced on May 15, 2026, that the Vegas Golden Knights will forfeit a second-round pick in the 2026 Upper Deck NHL Draft as punishment for flagrant violations of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs Media Regulations following Game 6 of their Second Round series against the Anaheim Ducks on May 14. Head coach John Tortorella was also fined $100,000. The penalties come after the club had previously received warnings about media regulation compliance, and Vegas has been offered the opportunity to appeal the sanctions in person in New York the following week.
