Golf club staff salaries recommended to rise 4% from January 2027

The Committee for Golf Club Salaries (CGCS) has recommended a 4% pay rise for key golf club staff, effective January 1, 2027, along with a suggested additional 2% added to wider benefits packages to aid staff retention. This year's 4% recommendation is the smallest increase in recent years, following rises of 7% for 2024, 5% for 2025, and 4.8% for 2026, reflecting easing inflationary pressure. The CGCS noted ongoing challenges in recruiting and retaining skilled staff, as well as a narrowing pay gap between minimum wage workers and experienced employees with managerial responsibilities.
