González joins Newcastle from Man City for £52m

Newcastle United have signed Spanish midfielder Nico González from Manchester City on a long-term deal, with an initial fee of £48 million plus £4 million in potential add-ons, totalling £52 million. González was presented to Newcastle supporters before their Carabao Cup second-round match against West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday. He arrives to bolster a reshuffled Newcastle midfield following the departures of Bruno Guimarães to Arsenal and Sandro Tonali to Tottenham this summer.
