Gosdens set stage for rematch of Royal Ascot epic with Trawlerman on course for Goodwood Cup

Trawlerman, the eight-year-old stayer trained by the Gosdens, is set to run in the Group 1 Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup in a fortnight, where he will face a rematch with Royal Ascot Gold Cup winner Scandinavia, who beat him by a head in their recent encounter. The horse has been dealing with a persistent eye condition requiring special goggles, which caused him to miss his usual spring prep races including the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan. Joint-trainer Thady Gosden confirmed the horse has come out of Royal Ascot in good shape and is currently cantering on Warren Hill in Newmarket ahead of the planned Goodwood run.
