Gov. Kelly and Kansas City Chiefs Announce Agreement On Plans for State-of-the-Art Domed Stadium in Kansas
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly and the Kansas City Chiefs have announced an agreement to build a $3 billion domed stadium in Wyandotte County, Kansas, set to open at the start of the 2031 NFL season. The project also includes a new Chiefs headquarters and training facility in Olathe, Johnson County, along with mixed-use entertainment developments at both sites. The construction phase alone is expected to create over 20,000 jobs and generate $4.4 billion in economic impact for Kansas, with the stadium projected to deliver more than $1 billion in annual economic impact thereafter.
