Gómez halfway-line wondergoal sparks Brighton’s 5-0 thrashing of sorry Crystal Palace

Brighton thrashed Crystal Palace 5-0 in a Premier League match, with Diego Gómez scoring a stunning halfway-line goal as a highlight. Crystal Palace were effectively stunned within the opening 10 minutes, finding themselves 3-0 down after an own goal by Jaydee Canvot helped Brighton seize control early. The result gave manager Fabian Hürzeler his first victory over Brighton's arch rivals, ending a four-match winless run against Palace since a 4-1 win in February 2024.
