Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu, a Japanese rugby-playing Coventry City fan, has guided the American F1 team to fourth place in the constructors' championship after three races — the highest position ever held by a US team at that stage in F1 history. As Haas prepare for their first home race of the season in Miami, Komatsu credits his rebel instincts and risk-taking approach for the team's strong start. Despite being the smallest team on the grid, Komatsu has also played a key role in developing young driver Oliver Bearman this season.
