Hailstorms force abandonment of Vuelta a Espana stage three

Stage three of the Vuelta a España was abandoned with 15km remaining due to heavy rain and violent hailstorms. Race officials were forced to cancel the stage as the severe weather conditions made it unsafe to continue. This marks a rare mid-stage abandonment at one of cycling's Grand Tours.
