Hamilton keeps British GP podium he was sure he'd lose

Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton retained his third-place finish at the 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone after receiving only a reprimand from FIA stewards for a yellow-flag infringement on lap 38 at Copse-Maggotts-Becketts. Hamilton had fully expected to lose the podium, telling Sky Sports F1 he was almost certain a penalty was coming after also having served an in-race five-second penalty for a false start. The stewards ultimately decided the reprimand was sufficient punishment, leaving Hamilton surprised to keep his podium.
