Has Coco Gauff won Wimbledon? Not yet, but she's already made history
Coco Gauff, a 22-year-old two-time Grand Slam champion from Delray Beach, Florida, reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in her career after defeating close friend Jessica Pegula in the quarterfinals on July 7. Gauff first made history at Wimbledon seven years ago as a 15-year-old, becoming the youngest player to enter the main draw since the Open era began in 1968, and famously defeated Venus Williams in straight sets. Her previous best result at Wimbledon had been the Round of 16, making this semifinal appearance a significant milestone in her career.
