Helsinki to host 2030 European Athletics Championships

Helsinki, Finland has been awarded the 2030 European Athletics Championships, beating Brussels in the bidding process. This will be a record fourth time the Finnish capital has hosted the event, having previously staged it in 1971, 1994, and 2012 — more than any other city in the championship's near 100-year history. Additionally, Toruń, Poland was selected to host the 2029 European Athletics Indoor Championships.
