'He's had to do it a different way' - Night Raider enters Royal Ascot picture with Temple Stakes win
Night Raider, trained by Karl Burke and ridden by Clifford Lee (standing in for suspended James Doyle), won the Temple Stakes despite a poor start in which he bashed his head on the stalls and missed the break by a couple of lengths. The victory has made the Wathnan Racing-owned sprinter a 10-1 fourth favourite for the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot. Racing adviser Richard Brown noted the win was particularly significant as it showed the horse, who had previously won the Palace House Stakes at Newmarket following gelding, could win from behind as well as from the front.
