Hiller hired as Maple Leafs coach, replaces Berube
Jim Hiller, 57, was hired as head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday, replacing Craig Berube, who was fired on May 13 after new GM John Chayka called for an 'organizational shift.' Hiller was most recently with the Los Angeles Kings, where he posted a 93-58-24 record in 175 games before being fired on March 1. Toronto finished last in the Atlantic Division with a 32-36-14 record this season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2015-16.
