Hockey Night in Canada: Punjabi Edition, a spinoff of Hockey Night in Canada that broadcast NHL games in Punjabi on Saturday nights via OMNI Television, has been cancelled after an 18-year run. The program was announced as ended on its X account and featured notable South Asian broadcasters including Harnarayan Singh, who gained viral fame for his call of Nick Bonino's winning goal in Game 1 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Final between the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks. Host Randip Janda was also part of the broadcast team and had worked with Sportsnet as the first full-time South Asian hockey broadcaster.
