Hometown fave Fleetwood: 'dream' to be in Open

Tommy Fleetwood, who grew up in Southport and once snuck onto the Royal Birkdale course as a boy, is competing in the Open Championship with hopes of winning his first major title on his home turf. The reigning FedEx Cup champion previously played at Royal Birkdale in 2017, finishing tied for 27th at 1-over par, 13 shots behind winner Jordan Spieth. No English-born golfer has won The Open since Nick Faldo claimed his third Claret Jug in 1992.
