Marcin Budkowski was named Cadillac's new Formula 1 team principal last Wednesday, replacing Graeme Lowdon, who was informed of his firing that same morning by TWG Motorsports CEO Dan Towriss. Budkowski, who previously served as Alpine's effective team principal through 2021 and had stints at McLaren, Ferrari, and the FIA, began work at Cadillac's Silverstone headquarters on Monday. Towriss described the leadership change as an 'inflection point,' acknowledging it came earlier than planned as the team continues to struggle with a slow car and unresolved ownership questions.
