How F1's planned 60-40 power split for 2027 will affect each manufacturer
The FIA has agreed with Formula 1 teams and power unit manufacturers to modify the 2027 engine regulations, shifting to a 60-40 power split between internal combustion engine (ICE) and electrical components. The change increases the ICE's maximum power output by 50kW while reducing the MGU-K contribution, announced at the end of the week prior to May 12, 2026. The adjustment will affect each manufacturer differently depending on their current power unit architecture and development focus.
