How the PGA Tour will decide who makes the new Championship Series in 2028

The PGA Tour has revealed details of its new two-tier structure, set to take effect in 2028, in which 90 of 120 Championship Series players will retain their spots each year, while the remaining 30 face relegation to the Challenger Series. Promotion pathways include the top 20 finishers from the 144-man Challenger Series, winners of two Challenger events, and three spots decided through a new fall 'Last Chance' series involving Korn Ferry Tour finishers, Q-School graduates, and PGA Tour University players.
