Howe: Newcastle's Saudi backers care about club

Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe held 'constructive' discussions with PIF chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan at Matfen Hall on Thursday following a disappointing season review, and emerged convinced that Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, which holds an 85% stake in Newcastle, remains committed to growing the club. Howe stated the Saudi backers' desire to reach the top of the Premier League and win trophies consistently is unchanged since they took control in October 2021. The talks came as PIF announced it would stop funding LIV Golf, into which it has invested over $5 billion, at the end of the 2026 season.
