Hrgovic wins IBF world heavyweight boxing title as Itauma hospitalised
Filip Hrgovic defeated Britain's Moses Itauma via a ninth-round stoppage on August 30, 2026, at the O2 Arena in London to claim the vacant IBF world heavyweight boxing title, becoming the first Croatian to hold a world heavyweight championship. Itauma, who had been on top in the early rounds while attempting to become the second-youngest heavyweight world champion in history after Mike Tyson, was taken from the ring on a stretcher and hospitalised following the stoppage. The victory came in Hrgovic's 15-fight professional career against the experienced challenger.
