Hug extends Berlin reign with 11th title as Debrunner powers to victory

At the Berlin Marathon on 27 September, Swiss wheelchair racers Marcel Hug and Catherine Debrunner claimed dominant victories. Hug secured his 11th Berlin Marathon title, finishing nearly six minutes ahead of the field, with Japan's Sho Watanabe and the Netherlands' Lito King Anker taking second and third. Debrunner won the women's wheelchair race by 6:52 over compatriot Manuela Schaer, claiming her third Abbott World Marathon Majors victory of the season and fourth Berlin title overall.
