Hughes says he's 'open to re-signing' with Wild
Defenseman Quinn Hughes, 26, said Friday he is 'open to re-signing' with the Minnesota Wild after the team was eliminated by the Colorado Avalanche in a 4-3 overtime loss in Game 5 of the Western Conference Second Round. Hughes was traded from the Vancouver Canucks to Minnesota on December 12 in exchange for Zeev Buium, Marco Rossi, Liam Ohgren, and a 2026 first-round pick. He is currently in the fifth year of a six-year, $47.1 million contract and can become an unrestricted free agent after the 2026-27 season, with eligibility to sign a long-term extension with the Wild starting July 1.
