Hurricanes aim to repeat as Cup champs minus Andersen

The Carolina Hurricanes, who won the Stanley Cup in 2025-26 with a 53-22-7 record and first place in the Metropolitan Division, are heading into the 2026-27 season without goalie Frederik Andersen, who signed a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers on July 1. Andersen was a key playoff performer, posting a 13-2 record with a 1.89 GAA and .910 save percentage in 16 postseason games. Young forward Bradly Nadeau, 21, is expected to take on a larger NHL role after Seth Jarvis was ruled out 4-6 months following off-season shoulder surgery.
