Hurricanes hold off Golden Knights in Game 5, move within 1 win of Stanley Cup
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 4-2 in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final at Lenovo Center in Raleigh on Thursday, taking a 3-2 series lead. Andrei Svechnikov scored twice on the power play, Jordan Staal scored for the fifth consecutive game, Sebastian Aho added his first goal of the series, and Nikolaj Ehlers recorded three assists for his second straight three-point game, while goalie Brandon Bussi made 23 saves. Pavel Dorofeyev scored both goals for Vegas; Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at T-Mobile Arena.
