Hurricanes win Stanley Cup! Carolina beats Golden Knights to end 20-year drought
The Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup on Sunday, June 14, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final. Goals from Taylor Hall and Jackson Blake in the first two periods, combined with a near-19-minute shot drought for Vegas, sealed the win, with Nikolaj Ehlers adding an empty-net goal. It is the Hurricanes' first Stanley Cup championship since 2006, ending a 20-year drought under coach Rod Brind'Amour, who was the team's captain during their previous title.
